Narative Text 2

Hallo Every One !!! Welcome back, how are you? I hope you're okay The topic this time is making narrative text. Previously I have discussed what a narrative text is, and surely you all know and are familiar with it because we often encounter narrative texts in various stories such as fairy tales, legends or other stories. now I will create a narrative text Timun Emas.

TIMUN EMAS

Orientation:

Long time ago in the island of Java, Indonesia, lived a couple of farmer. They had married for some years but they had no children. So they prayed to a monster called Buta Ijo to give them children. Buta Ijo was a ferocious and powerful monster. He granted their wish on one condition. When their children had grown up, they had to sacrifice them to Buta Ijo. He liked eating fresh meat of human being. The farmers agreed to his condition. Several months later the wife was pregnant.

Complication:

She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Timun Emas. The farmers were happy. Timun Emas was very healthy and a very smart girl. She was also very diligent. When she was a teenager Buta Ijo came to their house. Timun Emas was frightened so she ran away to hide. The farmers then told Buta Ijo that Timun Emas was still a child. They asked him to postpone. Buta Ijo agreed. He promised to come again. The following year Buta Ijo came again. But again and again their parents said that Timun Emas was still a child. When the third time Buta Ijo came their parents had prepared something for him. They gave Timun Emas several bamboo needles, seeds of cucumber, dressing and salt.

‘Timun, take these things’

‘What are these things?’

‘These are your weapons. Buta Ijo will chase you. He will eat you alive. So run as fast as you can. And if he will catch you spread this to the ground. Now go!’ Timun Emas was scared so she ran as quickly as she could. When Buta Ijo arrived she was far from home. He was very angry when he realized that his prey had left. So he ran to chase her. He had a sharp nose so he knew what direction his prey ran. Timun Emas was just a girl while Buta Ijo was a monster so he could easily catch her up. When he was just several steps behind Timun Emas quickly spread the seeds of cucumber. In seconds they turned into many vines of cucumber. The exhausted Buta Ijo was very thirsty so he grabbed and ate them. When Buta Ijo was busy eating cucumber Timun Emas could run away. But soon Buta Ijo realized and started running again. When he was just several steps behind Timun Emas threw her bamboo needles. Soon they turned into dense bamboo trees. Buta Ijo found it hard to pass. It took him some time to break the dense bamboo forest. Meanwhile Timun Emas could run farther. Buta Ijo chased her again. When he almost catch her again and again Timun Emas threw her dressing. This time it turned into a lake. Buta Ijo was busy to save himself so Timun Emas ran way. But Buta Ijo could overcome it and continued chasing her.

Resolution:

Finally when Timun Emas was almost caught she threw her salt. Soon the land where Buta Ijo stood turned into ocean. Buta Ijo was drowned and died instantly. Timun Emas was thankful to god and came back to her home.

Narative Text

Hallo Everyone !!!today I will explain material about narrative text and its structure

Definition of Narrative Text

Narrative text is a type of text in English to tell a story that has a chronological sequence of events that are interconnected. The purpose of this text is to entertain the reader about a story or story.

Types of Narrative Text

Narrative text can be imaginary or factual. Here is an example of a genre from Narrative text:

1. Fairy tale

2. Mystery

3. Science fiction

4. Romance

5. Horror

6. Fable, and many more

Characteristics of Narrative Text

-Using action verbs in the form of past tenses.

-Using a specific noun as a pronoun.

-Using the Adjective to form Noun Phrase.

-Use the Conjunction to sort events

Narrative Text Structure

The structure of the narrative text focuses on a series of stages that are proposed to build a text on its own. In general, there are four stages in Narrative text, namely:

Orientation

Orientation or so-called introduction, contains about who, when, where a story is set.

Complication

Complication tells the beginning of the problem that causes the peak of the problem or what is commonly known as the climax. This section usually involves the main character of the story.

Resolution

This section is the end of the story or in the form of a solution to the problem that occurred. Problems can be solved can be for better or even worse which will make the story end happily or vice versa.

The following is an example of narrative text about Cinderella and its structure

Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Cinderella. She lived with her step mother and two step sisters.

The step mother and sisters were conceited and bad tempered. They treated Cinderella very badly. Her step mother made Cinderella do the hardest works in the house; such as scrubbing the floor, cleaning the pot and pan and preparing the food for the family. The two step sisters, on the other hand, did not work about the house. Their mother gave them many handsome dresses to wear.
One day, the two step sister received an invitation to the ball that the king’s son was going to give at the palace. They were excited about this and spent so much time choosing the dresses they would wear. At last, the day of the ball came, and away went the sisters to it. Cinderella could not help crying after they had left.
“Why are crying, Cinderella?” a voice asked. She looked up and saw her fairy godmother standing beside her, “because I want so much to go to the ball” said Cinderella. “Well” said the godmother,”you’ve been such a cheerful, hardworking, uncomplaining girl that I am going to see that you do go to the ball”.
Magically, the fairy godmother changed a pumpkin into a fine coach and mice into a coachman and two footmen. Her godmother tapped Cinderella’s raged dress with her wand, and it became a beautiful ball gown. Then she gave her a pair of pretty glass slippers. “Now, Cinderella”, she said; “You must leave before midnight”. Then away she drove in her beautiful coach.
Cinderella was having a wonderfully good time. She danced again and again with the king’s son. Suddenly the clock began to strike twelve, she ran toward the door as quickly as she could. In her hurry, one of her glass slipper was left behind.
A few days later, the king’ son proclaimed that he would marry the girl whose feet fitted the glass slipper. Her step sisters tried on the slipper but it was too small for them, no matter how hard they squeezed their toes into it. In the end, the king’s page let Cinderella try on the slipper. She stuck out her foot and the page slipped the slipper on. It fitted perfectly.
Finally, she was driven to the palace. The king’s son was overjoyed to see her again. They were married and live happily ever after.

Below is the structure of the cinderella story

1. Orientation: introducing participants or story characters with a set time and place. In this story, the first paragraph is clearly visible to introduce the participants of the Cinderella Story. They are Cinderella herself as the main character of the story, her stepmother who treats Cinderella badly, and her stepbrother who supports her mother who makes Cinderella treated very badly. Cinderella is introduced as a hero in this story. She struggled against mistreatment from her mother and stepbrother.

2. Complications: In a long story, complications arise in several situations. This means that at any one time there is more than one complication. In this Cinderella story, we can clearly see that there are Big Complications and Minor Complications.

second paragraph is the main complication of this Cinderella story. Cinderella got bad treatment from her stepmother. It was this bad crisis that caused some minor complications that Cinderella had to deal with.

3. Resolution: In the last paragraph, it is said that finally Cinderella lived happily. This is a happy resolution of mistreatment.

Diponegoro War

Around 1825-1830, Pangeran Diponegoro led Central Java and parts of East Java in a large-scale war that almost overthrew the Dutch imperialist power in Indonesia. This war was preceded by the decision and action of the Dutch East Indies to place stakes on Diponegoro's land in Tegalrejo Village. In addition, the Dutch East Indies did not respect local customs and overexploited people with high taxes.

The Dutch used various means to capture Pangeran Diponegoro and his troops. The Dutch made a contest tactic that whoever caught or killed Pangeran Diponegoro would be given a very large prize of 20,000 guilders. However, the followers of Pangeran Diponegoro at that time did not waver at the offer.

Biography

Currently the name Wendy Cagur is aligned with other well-known public figures such as Raffi Ahmad, Ivan Gunawan, and Denny Cagur. Wendy's light and distinctive Indonesian jokes made the audience laugh and easily accepted her stage act with her fellow comedians. Not many comedians have been consistent and accepted by society for a long time.

EVENT

Studying at UNJ

The beginning of the formation of Cagur was when all of its members came from the same alma mater, namely the Jakarta State University. From here the name Cagur is inspired by the aspirations of all of them who want to become teachers so that Cagur stands for Candidate Teachers. Wendy who played a role in guarding Cagur's career in the first years also came from the same alma mater.

Enter Cagur to replace Bedu

Initially, Cagur was a comedy group formed by Denny, Narji, and Sapto on July 23, 1997. The name Cagur stands for “Prospective Teachers”, because previously Cagur personnel were students of the Jakarta State University (UNJ). The word Cagur can also be interpreted as "Canda Gurau". As its development, Sapto was replaced by Bedu, and in 2002, Bedu resigned and was replaced by Wendy. At that time, Wendy was the closest person to Cagur who served as a crew to prepare the comedy property of Cagur members. Wendy is considered to have the ability to amplify Denny and Narji's jokes during a gig. Even though at that time Wendy never thought that she would enter as a member of Wendy and change her life until now.

Cagur disbanded

The Cagur comedy group received a positive response from Indonesian entertainment audiences because it provided stage acts that were relevant to everyday life and light jokes. This earned the members personal fame and earned them jobs outside the Cagur group. This was disclosed by Denny Cagur, that Narji chose to resign from Cagur one day before shooting the ad and made internal feuds inevitable. Currently, Wendy and Denny still use the word "cagur" in their stage name. Meanwhile, Narji and Bedu abandoned the name Cagur and continued their career as a single comedian.

Had been reported to the police

Everyone has faults and maybe unpleasant moments towards others. This also happened to Wendy Cagur, who was reported to the authorities on charges of unpleasant acts by a property staff in a television program. He was reported for putting cigarette butts in his clothes and causing discomfort and decided to report the act.

REOROENTATION

Good at drawing and mural

Wendy Cagur's ability to draw and relate to the art world is beyond doubt. Some of her close colleagues agreed that Wendy is indeed good at drawing and mural. He is a member of the Depok Art District art community, which often carries out activities to draw murals and other graphic art acts. This drawing skill can also be seen from several corners of the house that he drew himself and had time to draw a mural for a fellow artist, Ayu TingTing.

Career ups and downs

It was not easy for Wendy to reach a career point of current magnitude. There have been difficult times and ups and downs in his career as a comedian and television host. In difficult conditions in pursuing a career, Wendy Cagur once felt that her account balance was depleted and only Rp60 thousand left. This made Wendy Cagur and his wife have to survive and sell assets to make ends meet. Wendy's toughness and patience to face the ups and downs of her career in the entertainment world made her a humble person and did not underestimate anyone.

Battle Of Surabaya

Hallo Every one!!!!today i will discuss recount text again. Yesterday we discussed a recount text about my idol, namely Wendy Cagur and now I will tell you about the most historic places in Indonesia, one of which is Surabaya.

You must have known Surabaya. I will tell you a little about the city of Surabaya, Surabaya is the capital of the East Java province, as well as the largest metropolitan city in the province. Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta. Surabaya is located on the north coast of the eastern part of Java Island and faces the Madura Strait and the Java Sea. Surabaya is known as the City of Heroes because of its history which was taken into account in the struggle of Arek-Arek Suroboyo (Surabaya youths) in defending the independence of the Indonesian nation from invaders. Surabaya was also the largest city in the Dutch East Indies and the center of commerce in the archipelago, which was parallel to Hong Kong and Shanghai at its time.

One of the famous history in Surabaya is the story of "Battle of Surabaya". The climax occurred on November 10, 1945 which we know as Heroes' Day. And one of the famous heroes in the Surabaya battle was Bung Tomo.

This is a film about the Battle of Surabaya

And here's a movie trailer about Battle of Surabaya

Orientation:

On November 10, Indonesia celebrated Heroes 'Day or Heroes' Day to commemorate the Battle of Surabaya which began on that date in 1945. This bloody battle occurred because the Indonesians refused to surrender their weapons to British soldiers. British soldiers at that time were part of the Allies. Rebels Bung Tomo was a well-known revolutionary leader who played a very important role in this battle.

Event

It all started from a misunderstanding between British troops in Jakarta and in Surabaya, under the command of Brigadier A.W.WS. Mallaby. Brigadier Mallaby already has an agreement with the Governor of East Java, Mr. Surya. The agreement stated that Britain would not ask Indonesian troops and militias to surrender their weapons.

However, a British plane from Jakarta dropped leaflets all over Surabaya. The leaflets instructed the Indonesians to do the opposite on 27 October 1945. This act angered the Indonesian troops and militia leaders because they felt betrayed.

On October 30, 1945, Brigadier Mallaby was killed when he approached the British troop post near Jembatan Merah or Jembatan Merah, Surabaya. There have been many reports of these deaths, but it is widely believed that Brigadier was killed by Indonesian militias. Seeing this situation, Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison brought reinforcements to besiege the city.

On the morning of 10 November 1945, British troops began to enter Surabaya with protection from sea and air bombing attacks. Even though the Indonesians defended the city valiantly, the city was conquered within 3 days and the whole battle lasted 3 weeks. In total, between 6,000 and 16,000 Indonesians died while the British toll was around 600 to 2000.

Reorientation

The Battle of Surabaya caused Indonesia to lose weapons that hindered the country's struggle for independence. However, this battle provoked the Indonesian and international masses to unite for the country's independence which made this battle very important for the Indonesian national revolution.

My Idol

My idol is Wendi Cagur, he is an artist as well as a Bomber. Bomber is a person who makes graffiti art on the streets (not vandalism). I really like graffiti art from elementary school because drawing graffiti is my hobby. I like Wendi since junior high school because at that time I saw him drawing on the wall, the way he drew was very detailed and careful that was what I liked about his character, at that time I started to study drawing graffiti in earnest, I started buying equipment for draw like markers and pencils. and at this time I am still learning to draw graffiti because in my opinion I have to deepen the knowledge I got. I think Wendi is a funny person because he is also a comedian and when I see him he draws he does not take too seriously and often laughs. and finally I can make a good graffiti image. example of my picture:

I am very grateful for what I have achieved so far, I hope that in the future it can be even better and I can draw together with Wendi Cagur.
